![]() If you're labeling flat surfaces go with Polyester. The Polyester labels are very wear-resistant, but have a memory so aren't good for tight diameters. That and some other strange problems were cured by universal Microsoft fix - power down and restart. I might mention that sometimes it does strange things, like printing the smallest font when you have told it to use the biggest. Once that problem was fixed I was very happy with the unit. It doesn't make any sense to me why that would have an effect on the problem, particularly since the print was already very dark before making the adjustment, but it worked. It turns out that both cleaning the print head helps a little and darkening the print (it is called "print contrast" under the "settings" button fixed the problem. After not finding a solution on line, and not getting a response from Dymo, I started experimenting, wasting about half of an expensive cartridge (did I mention they are all expensive, not just shrink tube) trying to see if I got a bad unit, bad cartridge, or there was some other issue. ![]() no ink printed) down the center of the label.
